## Common lawn pests in Northeast Florida

Chinch bugs are the most common pest of St. Augustinegrass in Florida. They cause yellow, then brown, patches that spread out from sunny, dry areas, often along driveways and sidewalks.

Sod webworms, armyworms and mole crickets also damage Jacksonville lawns, and fire ants build mounds that make lawns unsafe. Correct identification comes first, so the treatment fits the pest.
